Because Lemmy is fucking god!

as 100 melhores do Prog... será?

Dicas? "Changes aren't permanent...but change is..."

100.  “Grand Designs” by Rush.  It is only fitting to kick off this countdown with one of many, many Rush cuts.
99. “Edge of Thorns” by Savatage.  Why Jon Oliva is not a household name is a mystery to me.
98. “The Phantom of the Opera” by Iron Maiden.  The first of many Maiden songs and the only D’Anno track to make the cut.
97. “The Analog Kid” by Rush.  What is this song about? I don’t know but I love it.
96. “Watching Over Me” by Iced Earth.  A great song and the first of many on this list by this under rated band.
95. “On the Backs of Angels” by Dream Theater.  I was skeptical about DT’s ability to move forward without Portnoy but this is a great track!
94. “Operation: Mindcrime” by Queensryche.  The first of many cuts from the seminal concept album.
93. “Fear of the Dark” by Iron Maiden.  A great track about paranoia.
92. “Closer to the Heart” by Rush.  My 2nd favorite Rush ballad and one aimed right at…governments?
91. “l’enfant sauvage” by Gojira.  I have just started to get into Gojira as they move in to a more prog than death metal direction and I dig this track.
90. “The Apparition” by Fates Warning.  I was never a huge Fates Warning fan but this is a standout track.
89. “The Evil that Men Do” by Iron Maiden.  My favorite track from Seventh Son of a Seventh Son. A song about the longevity of evil deeds.
88. “Passive” by Perfect Circle.  A song about the failure to resuscitate someone via CPR? I don’t know but its awesome.
87. “La Villa Strangiato” by Rush.  Vinny Paul swears you are not a real drummer until you can pull off this instrumental gem from Neal and the boys.
86. “March of Mephisto” by Kamelot.  I had always assumed this band was European but they are actually from Florida. I love their duets even with black metal artists.
85. “A Mad Russian’s Christmas” by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  I’ve never seen TSO in concert but, Lord willing, will rectify that this fall.
84. “Dogman” by King’s X.  The first but not last song by the Texas based power trio.
83. “Force Ten” by Rush.  According to Geddy Lee it is about facing barriers.  I don’t know but I love it!
82. “Flight of Icarus” by Iron Maiden.  We proggies like our mythology and no one rocks them out better than Maiden.
81. “The Pot” by Tool.  A song about drug culture in America.  This won’t be the last Tool song on this list by a long shot!
80. “Serpent’s Kiss” by Symphony X.  My favorite cut from this prog rock band from Jersey.  This won’t be the last song on this list with this title.
79. “Carnies” by Rush.  A great track from a great new album.  “Some time the angels punish us by answering our prayers”–great line.
78. “Dante’s Inferno” by Iced Earth.  A song about the poem…hey, at least we geeks are well read.
77. “H” by Tool.  I always thought this song was about God but I tracked down an interview where Maynard stated that it is about the abuse he suffered as a child.
76. “Wither” by Dream Theater.  A great power ballad about writer’s block.
75. “Where Eagles Dare” by Iron Maiden.  A song based on the 1968 Richard Burton and Clint Eastwood WWII flick.  Awesome.
74. “The Haunting” by Kamelot.  A great duet about still being in love with a person that is gone.
73. “Lateralus” by Tool.  I have no idea what this song is about but I can’t stop listening to it.
72. “My Name Is Mud” by Primus.  Is there any way to explain Primus?
71. “Red Barchetta” by Rush.  A song about a farmer who owns a Ferrari in secret after cars have been outlawed–only Neal Peart!
70. “It’s Love” by King’s X.  A very Beatles inspired track.
69. “Rime of the Ancient Mariner” by Iron Maiden.  Only Steve Harris would push a song about an ancient poem by Coleridge!
68. “Jambi” by Tool.  Many read a lot into this song until Danny Carey spilled the beans that it’s about the show Pee Wee’s Playhouse!
67. “Constant Motion” by Dream Theater.  A song about mental illness that was a big hit on Headbanger’s Ball on MTV2.
66. “Suite Sister Mary” by Queensryche.  A song about a female prostitute masquerading as a nun but targeted for assassination.  Man, I love Operation: Mindcrime!
65. “The Outsider” by A Perfect Circle. A song about a person who claims to be suicidal but may just be looking for attention? Maybe.
64. “The Wreckers” by Rush.  The song that has quickly become my favorite from the new (and amazing) album Clockwork Angels.
63. “Die With Your Boots On” by Iron Maiden.  The title says it all.
62. “Forsaken” by Dream Theater.  I love the video to this track but is apparently about vampires.  Hmm.
61. “Parabola” by Tool.  A prog song about math…why not.
60. “Oblivion” by Mastodon.  Is the band prog? There is certainly a strong streak in their recent music and this one may have kicked it off.  Written under the influence of pain killers after nearly dying from a brain injury, it is more of a laid back tune written about an out of body experience.
59. “The Wages of Sin” by Theocracy.  Another great piece of writing and musicianship from a great band.  If you’ve never heard them, check them out now.
58. “Blue” by A Perfect Circle.  A track about those who refuse to accept the truth no matter what.  Another brilliant cut from Maynard.
57. “Black Flag” by King’s X.  I have no idea what this song is about but every time I hear it, it stays with me all day long.
56. “The Prisoner” by Iron Maiden.  Inspired by the British TV show and one of Maiden’s catchiest.
55. “YYZ” by Rush.  My favorite Rush instrumental and a lot of fun live. It follows the rhythm of the morse code signature for the Toronto Airport, which means home for the power trio.
54. “Curl of the Burl” by Mastodon.  The most straight forward rock song from the Atlanta band and quickly became my favorite from them.
53. “Jet City Woman” by Queensryche.  Singer Geoff Tate’s first wife was  flight attendant from Seattle…’nuff said.
52. “The Mirror” by Dream Theater.  A song supposedly about drummer Mike Portnoy’s battle with alcoholism.
51. “Prison Sex” by Tool.  A powerful song about abuse.
50. 30 Pieces of Silver” by Theocracy.  If you know the New Testament, you get the song.  I love Theocracy.  Again, check them out…right now…what are you waiting for?
49. “Stranger in a Strange Land” by Iron Maiden.  Most Eddie Heads look down on the albumSomewhere in Time but I always liked it and this was my 2nd favorite track from it.
48. “The Hollow” by A Perfect Circle.  Supposedly about how sexual desire can overcome a person and rob them of a richer life (see the movie Shame).
47. “A Passage to Bangkok” by Rush.  The boys pro-marijuana song…catchy even if I disagree it.
46. “A Question of Heaven” by Iced Earth.  My favorite track from the band’s homage to Todd McFarland’s “Spawn.”
45. “Stinkfist” by Tool.  Is it a crude song about a sex act or is it a metaphor for how modern culture desensitizes us?
44. “Revolution Calling” by Queensryche.  In many ways, the true kick off to Operation: Mindcrime and a powerful track!
43.  “The Silent Man” by Dream Theater.  A great ballad supposedly about the failure of communication between a father and son.
42. “Over My Head” by King’s X.  A spiritual song from a band that once identified itself as at least sympathetic to Christianity.
41. “Wasted Years” by Iron Maiden.  Another track I loved from Somewhere in Time about the fleeting nature of youth.
40. “Bravado” by Rush.  The highlight of Roll The Bones about those who do what has to be done regardless of the personal cost.  Geddy Lee has stated that it is one of his favorites.
39. “People Say–Gimme Some Hell” by Jon Oliva’s Pain.  A side project for the Savatage front man scored with this powerful cut.
38. “3 Libras” by A Perfect Circle.  Maynard has given different explanations for the song in different interviews but I tend to think it is about being overlooked and cast off.
37. “AEnema” by Tool.  An ode to late comedian Bill Hicks and his hatred of L.A. and wish that it would fall into the ocean! Can I get an amen?
36. “Gutter Ballet” by Savatage.  A song about the mixed culture of the streets where one can see brutality and grace filled communities side-by-side.
35. “Empire” by Queensryche.  A track about the rise in powerful drug gangs.  The highest ranking non-Mindcrime cut from Geoff & the boys.
34. “2 Minutes to Midnight” by Iron Maiden.  A song I always thought was about the unleashing of the angel of death in Exodus but, according to Bruce Dickinson, it is about the threat of nuclear war.
33. “Red Sector A” by Rush.  A heartbreaking track about the holocaust.
30-32. “Prophecy” “Birth of the Wicked” and “The Coming Curse” (The Something Wicked Trilogy by Iced Earth.  An epic sci-fi story about the eventual destruction of mankind.  I don’t listen to it often or otherwise it would have ranked higher.
29. “I Am” by Theocracy.  If you know your Bible, the title says it all.  A criminally under rated band.
28. “Judith” by A Perfect Circle.  Maynard wrote this about his mother who had a stroke but maintained her belief in God.
27. “Rites of Passage” by Dream Theater.  A song about secret societies including free masons!
26. “Sober” by Tool.  I initially thought this song was about something epic…turns out it’s about a buddy of the band who was always high!
25. “Aces High” by Iron Maiden.  A metal song about a WWII air battle…add a dragon and its the perfect metal song!
24. “Goldilox” by King’s X.  I don’t know what this song is about but it’s my favorite cut from the Texas power trio.
23. “Hall of the Mountain King” by Savatage.  Who thought the only track about Lord of the Rings would only hit #23…c’mon we can do better for Mr. Tolkein, can’t we?
22. “Tears of the Dragon” by Bruce Dickinson.  When Bruce left Maiden it initially looked like he was headed in a pop metal direction (see “Tattooed Millionaire”) but he returned home and this was the best of the tracks he produced on his return.
21. “Subdivisions” by Rush.  The best of the synth-pop era Rush songs and its about individuality…me thinks you may note a theme in Neil Peart’s lyrics.
20. “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24″ by Trans-Siberian Orchestra.  An instrumental medley of “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” and “Carol of the Bells.”
19. “Pull Me Under” by Dream Theater.  The song that but DT on the map and it is supposedly about Hamlet…who  knew?
18. “Forty-Six & 2″ by Tool.  A weird but compelling song about genetics…only Maynard would write such a tune.
17. “Run to the Hills” by Iron Maiden.  A galloping lament of the treatment of Native Americans with a great chorus.
16. “Spirit of the Radio” by Rush.  A track about the power of music and its corruption by the business end of the music business.  It doesn’t get much better than being at a Rush concert and hearing Alex Lifeson’s great opening riff hit the amps.
15. “I Don’t Believe in Love” by Queensryche.  A song about the assassin Nikki trying to convince himself he’s not in love with Sister Mary and if you don’t know what I’m talking about, I’m embarrassed for you!
14. “Believe” by Savatage.  The concluding track to the rock opera Streets and it is simple and beautiful.
13. “Dreaming Neon Black” by Nevermore.  According to Warren Dane, this foreboding cut is about losing his girlfriend to a cult and never seeing her again.
12. “Schism” by Tool.  Supposedly a track about divisions within the church–especially interesting to a pastor like me.
11. “The Number of the Beast” by Iron Maiden.  A song about a nightmare that bassist Steve Harris wrote after watching Damien: The Omen II.
10. “Limelight” by Rush. Neil Peart was aghast when fans began to follow him home! “Limelight” is his mulling on the strange, mixed blessings of fame.
9. “Weak and Powerless” by A Perfect Circle.  A powerful song about drug addiction.
8. “The Trooper” by Iron Maiden.  Who other than Iron Maiden could pen a metal classic about the Crimean War.
7. “Serpent’s Kiss” by Theocracy.  A 12-minute reflection on original sin and prayer for redemption.  The best prog rock song from the best Christian prog rock band.  Amazing.
6. “A Change of Seasons” by Dream Theater. A twenty-three minute classic that reflects on life and death.  Dream Theater’s magnum opus…and that’s saying something.
5. “2112” by Rush. Speaking of twenty-minute epics, “2112” is THE “long song masterpiece” spinning a tale of a future theocracy that has outlawed music and a new guitarist who leads a rebellion.  Awesome (and my son’s favorite).
4. “Eyes of a Stranger” by Queensryche.  The best song off the best hard rock concept album ever made.
3. “Vicarious” by Tool.  A fierce indictment of the American obsession with reality TV.
2. “Hallowed Be Thy Name” by Iron Maiden.  Let’s face it, if you are ever sentenced to death by hanging, you will be singing this on you way to the gallows.
1. “Tom Sawyer” by Rush.  Neil Peart penned the lyrics to this ode to individualism with Pye Dubois and it is the king of all prog rock songs.

METALLICA canta a bíblia. . .

Slaves
Hebrews born to serve, to the pharaoh

Heed

To his every word, live in fear

Faith
Of the unknown one, the deliverer
Wait
Something must be done, four hundred years

So let it be written

So let it be done

I'm sent here by the chosen one

So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death

Now

Let my people go, land of goshen

Go

I will be with thee, bush of fire
Blood
Running red and strong, down the nile
Plague
Darkness three days long, hail to fire

So let it be written

So let it be done

I'm sent here by the chosen one

So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death

Die by my hand

I creep across the land

Killing first born man

Die by my hand
I creep across the land
Killing first born man
I
Rule the midnight air the destroyer
Born
I shall soon be there, deadly mass
I
Creep the steps and flood final darkness
Blood
Lambs blood painted door, I shall pass

So let it be written

So let it be done

I'm sent here by the chosen one

So let it be written
So let it be done
To kill the first born pharaoh son
I'm creeping death

chorando no casamento. . .

Essa é verídica e me aconteceu recentemente.
Convenções sociais, interesses profissionais, you name it.
e viva a noiva!

Não, eu não quero me apaixonar
(essa garota vai quebrar seu coração)
Não, eu não quero me apaixonar
(essa garota vai quebrar seu coração)
Por você

Que jogo perverso de se jogar...
que me faz sentir desse jeito
Que coisa perversa isso
me fazer sonhar com você
Que coisa perversa pra se dizer:
que você nunca se sentiu assim
Que coisa maldosa de se fazer
que eu sonhe com você

E eu não quero me apaixonar
